Addiction Worker Diploma Program Overview

Our 47-week program provides the in-demand skills and training required to work with, and advocate for, a diverse range of clients with addiction issues. You will gain the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to assess, encourage and help create a treatment plan for those who are struggling with addiction and/or addiction relapse. You will also develop your communication and group facilitation skills, and study both family dynamics and special populations, including First Nations, sexual minorities, the elderly and the homeless. Our program includes an 8-week, field-related internship that provides insight, confidence and valuable real-world experience. Upon graduation, you may explore a range of workplace environments, including hospitals, residential treatment centres, group homes, mental health agencies, correctional facilities and social service agencies.
