A career as a Personal Support Worker gives you the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s day through practical care, patience and compassion. triOS College’s Personal Support Worker certificate program helps you build the skills and confidence to support clients, residents, patients and families in community, home, hospital and long-term care settings.

With instructor-led hybrid and on-campus learning options and half-day classes, you can prepare for meaningful work in healthcare while building practical experience step by step.

Your training covers areas such as personal care, safety and mobility, body systems, nutrition and hydration, documentation, care planning, cognitive and mental health issues, brain injuries, medications and end-of-life care. You’ll also learn how to communicate with clients, support daily routines, recognize changes in condition and provide care that respects each person’s dignity, comfort and independence.

You’ll practice in classrooms that simulate real healthcare settings, including hospital beds, wheelchairs and other equipment. This hands-on training helps you build confidence with practical skills, tools and care routines before applying your skills in two real-world placements: one in a facility setting and one in a community setting.

You’ll also complete training in CPR/First Aid, Gentle Persuasive Approach and insulin administration, helping you prepare for practical responsibilities you may support as a PSW. The program follows the National Association of Career Colleges curriculum and prepares students to write the final NACC PSW exam.
