KICK-START YOUR EDUCATION WITH UP TO $28,000 IN GOVERNMENT FUNDING

The Second Career strategy from the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities pays for the training or education Ontarians may need to re-enter the work force.

Those who qualify for Second Career will receive up to $28,000 to pay for:

  • Tuition,
  • Living expenses
  • Travel and transportation
  • Disability supports
  • Books
  • Childcare expenses
  • And more!

To qualify for Second Career funding, you must be:

  • laid off and working a temporary job just to cover costs
  • laid off and not been working
  • currently receiving Employment Insurance (EI) or have received it in the past
  • laid off due to COVID-19 and ready to re-train for a new career

While the program is open to all laid-off workers and jobseekers, priority is being given to applicants who were laid off due to COVID-19 and looking to train in new, high-demand fields known as priority streams.

Fast-track funding is available for programs that fall in one of the four priority streams: Supportive Health Services, Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing and Information and Communications Technology.
